The author, analyzing the purpose of the state land cadastre, the object composition of the cadastre and its database, concludes that the state land cadastre and its database should not be identified. In the conclusions it is noted that the "database of the state land cadastre" is a set of data placed in the corresponding unified state geoinformation system of information about the lands, as well as the objects of the cadastre.У статті комплексно вирішується питання з’ясування юридичної сутності бази даних державного земельного кадастру відповідно до чинного законодавства України. Автор, аналізуючи мету державного земельного кадастру, об’єктний склад кадастру та його бази даних, доходить висновку, що державний земельний кадастр та його базу даних не слід ототожнювати.
