The author differentiates such concepts of victim as «role», «status» and «position», also she establishes special connection between these terms and «victim response». The creator of article defines features of constructive and destructive sacrifice. The author is dealing with proving of relevance in using the definition of personality’s «victim response».У статті розглянуто сучасні підходи до розуміння поняття «жертва». Диференційовано поняття «роль», «статус», «позиція» жертви та встановлено зв’язок із поняттям «віктимне реагування» особистості. Розглянуто особливості конструктивної та деструктивної жертовності.
