Основні акценти розставлено на розумінні історичної ідентичності як основоположного складника ідентичності національної. Звідси випливають історично сформовані ментальні відмінності між українцями та росіянами.The relevance of the research. Russian propaganda uses history as an effective tool to spread narratives and clichés relevant to Russian ideology both within its own country and abroad. This is especially dangerous for Ukraine, for its temporarily occupied territories. In particular, it is about the destruction of Ukrainian-language books by the Russian occupiers, the change of toponymy to Russian/Soviet, the transfer of the school education system to the Russian format of studying history. Emphasis is placed on rewriting the history of the 1970s-2000s in the history textbook for high school students, which has been put into effect since September 2023 in the occupied territories of Ukraine. According to the textbook, the Russian-Ukrainian war is considered an aggression of the collective West, led by the USA, against «peace-loving» Russia and using the territory of Ukraine to conduct hostilities, as well as to sow discord between «fraternal nations». While Russia's actions are «SVO» («special military operation»), designed to destroy the «Nazi regime» in «ultra-radical Ukraine». Such imposition of a «historical matrix» from a young age into the consciousness and worldview of the younger generation will have unpredictable consequences for Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to highlight the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on historical identity in Ukraine. Conclusions. The actions of Russian propaganda in the hybrid war cover different countries. The article provides examples of the dismantling of the monument to Soviet Marshal Konev in the Czech Republic and Russia's reaction to these actions. The Russian propaganda campaign «Immortal Regiment» is also considered an example of the spread of a distorted understanding of the events of the Second World War in order to justify an aggressive policy, in particular, against Ukraine. Considering all the risks to national consciousness and identity, it is important for Ukraine to have a clear vision of its own historical and cultural development, based on European principles of state formation, legal and political culture, language, religious specificity, regional and local features, to confidently promote its own historical narratives. In the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war and post-war reconstruction, it is important not only to refute historical fakes, shape, and disseminate a clear national vision of history, but also to build the value and ideological foundations of humanitarian policy for sustainable development and (re)integration into the European cultural space and differentiation from the harmful influence of the Russian world.ukісторична ідентичністьнаративнаціональна ідентичністьокуповані територіїросійська пропагандаросійсько-українська війнаhistorical identitynarrativenational identityoccupied territoriesRussian propagandaRussian-Ukrainian warІсторична ідентичність в умовах російсько-української війниHistorical Identity In the Conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian WarСтаття
