The current state of Ukrainian Studies, by inertia, which remained since the pre-war period, is focused on the creation and dissemination of knowledge about Ukraine and all Ukrainian, mainly among citizens of Ukraine. At the same time, after the Revolution of Dignity, the annexation of Crimea, the occupation of the Donbas, and especially after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the geopolitical situation has changed significantly. The heroic resistance of Ukrainians to a much stronger opponent, the formation of a coalition of Western states assisting Ukraine, the adoption by the world countries, first of all, the EU, several million Ukrainian refugees – all this contributed to an increase in interest in Ukraine, which few knew of ten years ago. In this context, the problem of reorientation of Ukrainian studies from internal to external knowledge consumers is updated. This problem is solved, on the one hand, by intensifying the leading foreign scientific centres of Ukrainian Studies and, on the other, by the need to reformat Ukrainian Studies in Ukraine itself. Earlier, Ukrainian Studies were a form of self-reflection of the national existence of Ukraine and Ukrainian, and the main beneficiary was the Ukrainian state, recognizing, in particular, the humanitarian priorities of the nation's development. At present the Ukrainian Studies field is of interest primarily to foreign analytical centres that seek to obtain objective information about Ukraine and have turned Ukrainian studies into a tool for collecting such information through grant mechanisms. The purpose of this article is to determine the prospect of the main scientific trends of the world centres in Ukrainian Studies. Conclusions. The monitoring of the main centres of Ukrainian Studies in January 2025 allows us to conclude about the significant expansion of the subject of scientific research in this field. Before the war, the main scientific trends were considered to be “culture”, “language”, and “history”. Today, interdisciplinary studies related to the Russian-Ukrainian war, the domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine, the course of reforms, the development of civil society and self-government, the protection of human rights, comparative literature, the preservation of the national historical and cultural heritage, the state of Ukrainian migrants in Europe and other countries of the world, exposure of imperial falsifications of Ukrainian history, cultural de-occupation of temporarily occupied by Russia territories of the South and East of Ukraine, etc. It is assumed that it is in these directions, i.e., in the directions of the leading world trends in the field of Ukrainian Studies, that the scientific research of the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv will move in the near future.Актуальність. Сучасний стан українознавства за інерцією, що залишилася з довоєнного часу, орієнтований на створення і розповсюдження знань про Україну та українство переважно серед громадян України. Водночас після Революції Гідності, анексії Криму, окупації Донбасу та особливо після повномасштабного вторгнення рф в Україну 24 лютого 2022 року геополітична ситуація значно змінилася. Героїчний опір українців набагато сильнішому супротивнику, утворення коаліції західних держав з допомоги Україні, прийняття країнами світу, насамперед Євросоюзу, декількох мільйонів українських біженців – все це сприяло підвищенню інтересу до України, про яку ще десять років тому мало хто знав. У цьому контексті актуалізується проблема переорієнтації українознавства з внутрішнього на зовнішнього споживача знань. Ця проблема вирішується, з одного боку, активізацією провідних зарубіжних наукових центрів Ukrainian Studies, а з другого – необхідністю переформатування українознавчих досліджень в самій Україні. Якщо раніше українознавство було формою саморефлексії національного буття України та українства і головним бенефіціаром виступала Українська держава, визначаючи, зокрема, гуманітарні пріоритети розвитку нації, то тепер галузь Ukrainian Studies цікава насамперед для зарубіжних аналітичних центрів, які прагнуть отримувати об’єктивну інформацію про Україну і за допомогою грантових механізмів перетворили українознавство в інструмент збору такої інформації. Метою статті є визначення перспективності основних наукових трендів світових центрів у галузі Ukrainian Studies. Висновки. Проведений в січні 2025 року моніторинг основних центрів Ukrainian Studies дає можливість зробити висновок про суттєве розширення тематики наукових досліджень в цій галузі. До війни основними науковими трендами вважалися «культура», «мова», «історія». Сьогодні актуальними і перспективними для розробки є міждисциплінарні дослідження, пов’язані з російсько-українською війною, внутрішньою та зовнішньою політикою України, ходом реформ, розвитком громадянського суспільства та самоврядування, захистом прав людини, порівняльним літературознавством, збереженням національної історико-культурної спадщини, станом українських мігрантів у Європі та інших країнах світу, викриттям імперських фальсифікацій української історії, культурною деокупацією тимчасово захоплених росією територій Півдня і Сходу України тощо. Передбачається, що саме в цих напрямках, тобто провідних світових трендів у галузі Ukrainian Studies, і буде рухатися науковий пошук НДІ українознавства КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка у найближчому майбутньому.ukСтаття
