Виявлено, що після повномасштабного російського вторгнення відбулося формування нової суспільно-політичної реальності України, коли максимального сплеску досягла консолідація українців навколо належності до єдиної української нації та боротьби за незалежність і демократичні цінності.The relevance of the research. The first decades of Ukraine's independence were characterized by the problem of a vague national identity, a dichotomy of national-citizen identity (pro-Ukrainian (pro-European) and pro-Russian (pro-Soviet)) with fundamentally different cultural codes, symbols, historical narratives, and value orientations. The military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, starting in 2014, became a catalyst for significant qualitative changes in Ukrainian society, in particular in matters of national self-identification. The study of the peculiarities of the transformation of the national-civic identity of Ukrainian society in the conditions of a full-scale war acquires special relevance in view of the need to understand the processes of consolidation and strengthening of national consciousness in the conditions of external aggression, as well as to identify new dimensions of the formation of a political nation under the influence of modern challenges. The purpose of the article is to analyze the transformation of collective identities of Ukrainians, priorities, and values prevailing in Ukrainian society in the realities of a full scale war and are factors in the formation of a consolidated political nation. Conclusions. The realities of the Russian-Ukrainian war led to important social and political changes, from the transformation of the "multi-identity" Ukrainian nation to the construction of a consolidated pro-Ukrainian collective identity. The war factor became an important stage in the construction of a stable national Ukrainian identity and the formation of a stable political nation. Unlike the previous stages, the full-scale war changed the orientations of citizens' self-identification - people identify themselves as Ukrainians regardless of ethnic origin, regional differences, and language preferences. An important aspect was the weakening of other types of national-civic identity: regional, local, mass separation and rejection from pro-Russian and post-Soviet identity.
