Linguistic contacts on the American continent occurred in two significant waves for the life of the continent: the first is the Hispanization of the American Indians in the 15th-16th centuries by the Spanish Conquistadors and the second is the Hispanization of the United States as a result of the emigration, primarily, of Mexicans from the end of the 20th century until today.У статті досліджуються мовні контакти на американському континенті. Тема сьогодні залишаються надзвичайно актуальною, оскільки останніми роками лінгвісти деталізували об’єкт своїх досліджень, застосувавши такі підходи вивчення, як лінгвосоціальний, лінгвокультурологічний, лінгвокогнітивний та лінгвоетнічний. Мовні контакти на американському континенті відбувалися двома значущими для життя континенту хвилями: перша – це іспанізація американських індіанців у 15-16 століттях іспанцями, а друга – можлива і вкрай загрозлива іспанізація Сполучених Штатів у результаті еміграцій, насамперед, з боку мексиканців з кінця 20 століття до сьогодні.En el artículo se estudian los contactos lingüísticos en el continente americano que siguen siendo sumamente actuales en la actualidad, pues en los últimos años los lingüistas introdujeron en el análisis enfoques tan productivos como el linguosocial, el linguocultural, el linguocognitivo y el linguoétnico.
