Обґрунтовано, що відновлення історичної й культурної пам’яті спонукає до вироблення нових підходів і методів подачі (ширення) обґрунтованої інформації про Україну й українців в освітньому процесі, що відповідно підвищує рівень консолідації молодого покоління.The relevance of the research. In the conditions of the war, one of the main tasks of the educational policy should be the formation of national social and state values as the ideological basis of the Ukrainian identity in schoolchildren. As a conceptual basis for such an approach, it is worth taking Ukrainian studies as a system of scientific knowledge about Ukraine, Ukrainians, and Ukrainianness. The restoration of historical and cultural memory encourages the development of new approaches and methods of providing (disseminating) substantiated information about Ukraine and Ukrainians in the educational process, which, accordingly, increases the level of consolidation of the younger generation. Positive social and state practices of commemorating heroes, the authority of Ukrainian heroes in the world as a necessary component of preserving the national community need to be understood. The main task of Ukrainian studies as an educational direction and as a separate educational course is to educate students in high patriotic consciousness, readiness to fulfil their civic and constitutional duty to protect the national interests, integrity, and independence of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problems and structure of Ukrainian studies as a factor in the formation of the national identity of school youth in the field of preservation and reproduction of the Ukrainian nation in Ukraine and abroad in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Conclusions. Formation of the national identity of student youth in the conditions of war is a multifaceted process that includes not only the assimilation of national values but also active participation in public life. Pupils involved in volunteer activities, educational initiatives, and scientific Ukrainian studies projects not only strengthen their identity but also become active participants in the formation of a new Ukraine. This process, although difficult due to psychological pressure and challenges, contributes to the development of the nation and its resilience in the face of modern challenges. Ukrainian studies practices in the modern education system of Ukraine are aimed at updating methodical approaches in the system of national-patriotic education with the aim of raising the level of patriotic consciousness, forming national identity, and an active civic position of student youth. International contests in Ukrainian studies have become a significant result of the scientific, theoretical, and practical work carried out by the staff of the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies and the numerous assets of scientists-Ukrainian studies, teachers, and lecturers of Ukrainian studies in Ukraine and abroad. The results of competitions in Ukrainian studies are reflected in a series of scientific articles and methodical manuals implemented in general secondary education institutions in Ukraine.
