In the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the issue of uniting the citizens of the Ukrainian state into a monolithic political nation in order to defeat the aggressor state became a priority. To consolidate all efforts, in addition to military, political, economic, international, and other factors, the Ukrainian language plays an important role as an important factor in uniting citizens, strengthening their national identity and self-awareness. Therefore, a scientific understanding of the situation of the Ukrainian language during the Russian-Ukrainian war, namely, understanding the legal and linguocide aspects, is an important contribution to ensuring the consolidation of the Ukrainian nation. The purpose of the study is to analyze the status of the Ukrainian language during the Russian-Ukrainian war, namely, to understand the legal and linguicide aspects. Conclusions. The essence of the state policy of Ukraine regarding the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens and the legal regime in the temporarily occupied territories of the Ukrainian state. It is shown that the modern state language policy of Ukraine should be based on the comprehensive implementation of the language legislation of Ukraine. The essence of the concept of "linguocide" is explained and cases of linguicide, anti-Ukrainian activities of Russian occupiers in the temporarily occupied and deoccupied territories of Ukraine are given. The following aspects of the Russification of Ukrainians during the occupation in the TOT of Ukraine are highlighted: Russian language courses for Ukrainians, return to the Soviet era, assimilation and unification. The dynamics of the language situation caused by the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine have been traced since February 24, 2022, and till present days.
