Українознавчий альманах(18).https://ir.library.knu.ua/handle/15071834/17768In the early twentieth century conservative Greek Catholic clergy in Galicia found itself before the challenge of new ideologies and the process of secularization of public space. The article analyzes the work of a Christian journalist. Onufriy Wolyanskyj (1880–1911) devoted to social and political dilemmas of contemporary Greek Catholic clergy and the Church in general. Wolyanskyj thinked about the origins of the problems, how the Church and clergy can overcome crisis and to maintain their political influence and social status in Galician society: consolidation of the clergy as a state, need to shape their own political representation, strengthening the internal discipline of the clergy, increased its socio-political activity at the same time ordering pastoral duties.Keywords: Onufryj Wolyanskyj, Greek Catholic Church, Clergy, Conservatism, Galicia.Роман ЛехнюкНа початку ХХ ст. консервативно налаштоване греко-католицьке духовенство в Галичині опинилося перед викликом нових ідеологій і процесом секуляризації суспільного простору. У статті проаналізовано праці християнського публіциста о. Онуфрія Волянського (1880–1911), присвячені соціальним і політичним дилемам тогочасного греко-католицького кліру й Церкви загалом. Волянський розмірковував про витоки проблем і способи подолання Церквою і духовенством кризових явищ задля збереження політичного впливу та соціального статусу в галицькому суспільстві: консолідацію духовенства як стану, потребу творення власного політичного представництва, зміцнення внутрішньої дисципліни кліру, активізацію його громадсько-політичної активності одночасно з упорядкуванням душпастирських обов’язків.Ключові слова: о.
