The work of this outstanding artist has left a great mark on history. It does not let people forget about the heroic times of the Cossacks and the bitter times of serfdom. Traveling around the outskirts of Ukraine, Taras was inspired by the landscapes, talked to ordinary people, and studied with famous cultural figures such as Panteleimon Kulish, Mykhailo Maksymovych, Mykola Ivanishev, Petro Chuykevych, and others. Taras Shevchenko was an artist and writer who traveled around Ukraine and explored its culture from the inside. The artist was sincerely concerned about the fate of the Ukrainian people and proudly wrote about the heroic times of the Cossacks. He shared his impressions in poems and paintings, many of which we can still see today. In this paper, I have analyzed the works of Taras Shevchenko related to the places he visited while traveling around Ukraine, as well as historical events in the context of which the cities Taras Shevchenko visited are mentioned. The text includes descriptions of various Ukrainian cities, their natural beauty, and architectural monuments. In particular, the author examines the poet’s connection with Chernihivshchyna, which he described in his works as a picturesque place where people live in poverty and suffer from the cruelty of their masters. Attention is focused on the role of Kyiv as a center of Ukrainian culture, where Shevchenko met prominent figures of his time. It also focuses on the role of Zaporizhzhia in the writer's life and explains why this city is the “soul of the poet”. All these places left a great imprint on his mind and creativity. The main purpose of the study was to convey to the reader the importance of love for the native land, which is embedded in the works of Taras Shevchenko. After all, by studying the works of authors who lived before us, we adopt their knowledge and can touch the history of our hometown and get to know our ancestors better. ____________ REFERENCES Taras Shevchenko. Kukharenko from November 26. 1844 - (Pravda. - 1895. - No. 74. – P. 143)У статті проаналізовано окремі твори Тараса Шевченка, пов’язані з місцями, у яких поет побував під час подорожі Україною, а також історичні події, в контексті яких згадуються міста, які він відвідував. Зокрема, звертаємо увагу на зв’язок поета з Чернігівщиною та Києвом. А також акцентуємо на ролі Запорожжя в житті письменника та обґрунтовуємо, чому це місце є «душею поета». Очевидно, що всі ці місця залишили великий відбиток на його свідомості та творчості.
