It analyzes the regulatory and legal framework governing the educational process, including the Law of Ukraine "On Education" and other relevant legislation. Special attention is given to the system of educational governance and the mechanisms for the attestation and certification of pedagogical staff. The article describes key forms of methodological work and underscores the significance of planning in organizing the pedagogical process. It also emphasizes the importance of school documentation as a tool for accounting, control, and coordination of educational activities. The requirements for the professional training of geography teachers are revealed. Furthermore, the article addresses the material and technical conditions necessary for effective geography instruction, including the proper arrangement of geography classrooms, outdoor geographical sites, and school museums. The important role of interaction, cooperation and communication of a geography teacher with the administration of an educational institution, methodologists and other teachers for improving his/her professional activity is determined.У статті розглянуто організаційно-правові, управлінські та методичні аспекти діяльності вчителя географії в сучасному закладі загальної середньої освіти України. Проаналізовано нормативно-правова базу, що регулює освітній процес. Окрему увагу приділено системі органів управління освітою та механізмам атестації й сертифікації педагогічних працівників. Описано основні форми методичної роботи та роль планування в організації педагогічного процесу. Також акцент зроблено на важливості шкільної документації як інструменту обліку, контролю та координації навчально-виховної діяльності. Розкрито вимоги до професійної підготовки вчителя географії. Розглянуто матеріально-технічні умови, необхідні для якісного викладання географії, зокрема облаштування кабінету географії, географічного майданчика та музею.
